Thanks for the update. I did start to suspect that relay. Real pain it's part of the GEM. I guess to prove the theory, if, when the doors are locked, I disconnect the wire between the GEM (relay) to the door and temporarily connect it to 12V (which is what is the relay provides during unlocking) and then try to 'unlock' with the remote, it should open. Does tha
Thanks Julesandtash, you guided me to the exact same problem with my 2002 l and k octavia. The red/yellow wire did not have 12V at the door window motor module (the plug was hard to get off until I realised there was a locking slider on it, pull the bottom part of the plug to the right!)and when I unpicked the loom at the door hinge I found the break in the red/yellow wire.
The solenoids can jam up, you could try removing it and see if it is free, if not a sharp tap on the plunger will un jam it for the short term. Replacement is not difficult and the parts are not that expensive. The boot lock key slot is also prone to dirt ingress and if not used can seize up. 37.6k. Location: Worcs.

Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013) Electrical problems - Scout. Hi, I have a Mark 2 Octavia Scout which has developed an electrical fault which causes a 5 amp fuse (no 6) in the dash to frequently blow. The circuit serves the dashboard, haldex clutch and power steering. The mechanic I use has been unable to identify what's causing the problem.
Once the door panel is out of the way all you need to do is remove wires/cables from and attack the door lock until it unlocks - it took me a few smacks with a 4" bolster chisel and 2lb mash hammer In any case, you should now be able to open the door using the external handle - a good excuse to stretch your legs and grab a coffee/tea/whatever.
HI - I have just bought an octy tdi 1.9 90bhp, But it has two 'interesting' faults: 1) the auto realase on the fuel cap does not work. I have removed the unit, tested both the supply voltage on the connector and the unit itself. When the button in the dash is pressed there is 11.65 volts deliverd
I've now got a similar problem. Last night the door cable snapped on the front passenger door and the door deadlocked shut. Managed this morning to get the door trim panel off and with a long screwdriver managed to release the door lock. This allowed me to change the cable, put it all back together and everything's A-OKAY.
Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020) Stop Start problem. I purchased an Octavia 1.5 TSI SE Technology 5dr Estate, which the dealer described as a 2017+ model. The date of first registration was 29 October 2020. The controls include the stop / start mechanism, which works well, most of the time. When I come to a halt and place the gearshift into
